Logan Bemis, age 21, of Franklin, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, at his home. Born on November 12, 2004, in Seneca, Logan was the son of Cara (Gates) Salsgiver and Brian Bemis. His passing has left his family, friends, and community heartbroken as they remember a young man whose life, though far too short, was filled with love, energy, and deep connections.
Logan graduated from Oil City Senior High School in 2023 and later worked at Post Consumer Brands in Meadville. He was known as a hardworking and determined young man who was never afraid to take on challenges. Whether on the job or in everyday life, Logan took pride in doing things well and proving to himself and others what he was capable of achieving.
Family was the center of Logan’s life. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Brynleigh Bemis, and his fiancée, Halyne Riley, both of Franklin. He also leaves behind his father, Brian Bemis; his grandparents Cindy Curran and Thomas Gates of Oil City; Lanny and Judy Bemis of Colorado; his brother Jacob Salsgiver and his wife Abby; his brother Dylan Salsgiver and his partner Linzee Fye; as well as his aunt Hillary (Gates) Wisniewski, uncle Mike, and cousin Freya. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cara (Gates) Salsgiver, whose memory remained an important part of his life.
Logan will be remembered as someone who loved deeply and lived with honesty and openness. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was known for his friendly nature and ability to talk with anyone. Those close to him recall his storytelling, humor, and easygoing conversations that could fill a room. He had a natural gift for connecting with people and making them feel included.
He also had a strong mechanical mind and was skilled at fixing cars and working with his hands. Logan enjoyed challenges and took pride in figuring things out on his own. His determination and curiosity often pushed him to keep going even when things were difficult. Outside of work, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sharing stories about his experiences.
Family members describe him as energetic, intelligent, and sometimes stubborn—but always caring and willing to help others when needed. He was someone who loved his people deeply, even while privately facing personal struggles and working toward a better future for himself and his family.
Logan’s passing is not only the loss of a young life but also the loss of future moments—his wedding, milestones with his daughter, and the many memories he would have continued to create with those he loved.
A memorial service will be held at Reinsel Funeral Home on Saturday, May 9th from 12–2 p.m., with service beginning at 1 p.m. In his memory, the family asks others to perform acts of kindness in his honor.
