Liam Gatto Bath, Ontario Death Obituary – Bath Public School Student has died

It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic passing of Liam Gatto, who left this world far too soon on March 15, 2026, at the age of 13. His loss has left an immeasurable void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his time here was brief, Liam’s life was filled with kindness, creativity, and a gentle spirit that made a lasting impact.

Born on October 31, 2012, Liam was the cherished son of Julia (McCoy) Gatto. From an early age, he stood out for his bright blue eyes and radiant smile that could light up any room. He carried a natural warmth that drew people to him, and his thoughtful nature was evident in everything he did. Liam was the kind of young person who instinctively looked for ways to help others—whether assisting teachers at school, holding doors for neighbors, or taking part in fundraisers to support those in need.

Liam had a deep appreciation for the natural world. He loved spending time in conservation areas, where he could hike, observe, and photograph wildlife. His passion for photography allowed him to capture the beauty around him, reflecting both his creativity and his quiet attentiveness. When he wasn’t outdoors, Liam often immersed himself in drawing. It was a familiar and comforting sight to see him with headphones on, sketchpad in hand, lost in his imagination while curled up beside his beloved cat, Sam, and his dog, Diesel.

Though he could appear reserved at first, those closest to Liam knew a different side of him—one filled with humor, wit, and a playful spirit. He had a love for clever wordplay and enjoyed making others laugh. He especially treasured time with his cousins, who were like brothers to him, often sharing jokes, pranks, and unforgettable moments that will now be held close in memory.

Liam’s life, though tragically short, was deeply meaningful. He touched hearts through his compassion, his creativity, and the quiet joy he brought into everyday moments. His absence is felt profoundly by those who loved him, but his memory continues to shine brightly in the stories, laughter, and love he leaves behind.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 25, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at The Old Barn at MacKinnon Brothers Brewing Company. This gathering will serve as a time to honor Liam’s life, share memories, and find comfort in one another.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Liam’s name may be made to Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, whose Pediatric Intensive Care Unit provided compassionate care that will never be forgotten.

Though Liam Gatto’s journey ended far too soon, the love he shared and the light he brought into the world will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
